Land Cruiser 250 MPG after 3" Lift + 35" Tires (Averaging 15.1)

I just started the sound deadening project on my LC250, and will be documenting everything here. First up were the hood, fenders, fender liners & wheel tubs! It sounds strange to do these, but they make a significant difference. The factory hood insulator uses one-time use retaining pins that need to be replaced with new ones. Other than that, everything else went smooth!

I just completed another 800 mile roadtrip to Southern California & back to Southern Utah for the SoCal Overland Expo last weekend. I picked up my wheels and tires in Cali to get mounted and balanced. I was super curious what MPG I'd get on the way home. At sea level in California after I put the 35's onto my (roughly 3" lifted) Long Travel LC250 I was getting 17/18ish MPG's in Cali. But as soon as I started heading home I was getting between 15-16MPGS. The computer said I averaged 15.1 which seemed pretty accurate after doing the math. Crazy how much of a difference the elevation can make even to lose 2 gallons per mile. Personally it doesn't matter to me cause I'll be smiling the whole way. But I hope this helps anyone who was curious before they throw on 35's. The LC still pushes them easily though. Nowhere near as much of a struggle as my 5G 4Runner.
