Had a blast this weekend wheeling with the 74W crew; Dissent Off-Road, Stellar Built, and 74Weld.
There is nothing quite like 18" of total ground clearance when ripping through 3-4' drifts of power. There is an insane difference from 35" tires on mid-travel. The ground clearance just eats through the powder and barely drags the diffs through the center path of the snow. I've had 74W portals on my 5th Gen 4Runner for about a year now but this was the first time snow wheeling on them. Game changer for the snow for sure. I've never had so much fun snow wheeling. I think I only got stuck twice. I used to go snow wheeling back in the day but pretty much stopped because you just can't go anywhere. With 35" tires on mid travel, you just get hung up everywhere; front skids, belly skids, rear diff, frame rails, links, etc.
74W portals have for sure changed the game when it comes to the rocks and the snow. Love these portals.
