Wheel Well Design Improvement? Land Cruiser 250 vs 5G 4Runner.

After tearing into my wheel wells and fenders the other night I noticed something different on my LC250 vs my 5G4R.

And it's simply a better designed piece of plastic between the fender and the driver/passenger door opening. This piece is solid! And very form fitting. The purpose? To keep mud, dirt and water out of the area between the fender and the opening of the front doors. (I'll post a photo of the 4Runner equivalent below)

This is on the 4Runner. I did buy this car secondhand so I can assume there was one there at one point. But maybe there wasn't. (Normally there are fender liners) but the 250 has both. And the 250 just looks way more solid the way it's mounted and pushed back. A tire will not touch this so there's no reason to remove this.

Just something I noticed and thought I'd share. Anyone else care to add their thoughts compared to other Toyota vehicles?
