Who here is thinking about trading in their 5th Gen 4Runner for a new Land Cruiser? I personally feel that the new LC is a solid evolution of the 4Runner. The LC has a bit more room side for the passengers, better MPG, full time 4wd, dual lockers, and modern tech. The 4R is super reliable but it’s definitely showing its age. Thoughts?

Check my video comparing both:

I have a 2021 TRD Pro that I want to trade for a Land Cruiser. It's probably not a popular opinion, but the new 4Runners are not visually appealing, and the conservative Land Cruiser lines will age a bit more gracefully.

We want the java leather interior and that is a bit harder to find.

I agree with your opinion. The Land Cruiser reminds me of a 5th gen 4Runner in that it has conservative lines.

Man, I am unfortunately in the same boat. I've been a 4Runner owner for three decades and was really leaning on the new 6th Gen 4Runner release... they kinda let us down. Think your unpopular opinion is actually going to be the global popular opinion. But thankfully they launched the 250. It's essentially a 4Runner - although it doesn't have a rear roll-down window. I think the 250 will replace the 4Runner as the most popular off-road Toyota platform next to the 4th Gen Tacoma.

The lack of a roll-down rear window is a letdown, but we need something with a push-button liftgate and the most up-to-date safety features. We like the idea of a hybrid and don't need (or want) a third row.

Picked up a Land Cruiser yesterday. Traded in the 2021 4Runner TRD Pro, 0 regerts ;) ETA, the salesman and finance guy said to keep the 2019 4Runner SR5 (cloth interior) because they are so hard to come by in our area.

That looks great! First heritage blue I have seen without the two tone paint (different roof). Do you pictures of other angles?

I will take a few and post them tomorrow. I had some from the dealership that I texted my wife but they were really bad. Got the Java interior.
Thanks! Java should look nice inside, something different than the common black. My Tacoma and 4Runner both have black so I could see how it would be nice having a change.

A little late to the party, but I traded in my 2022 4Runner for a 2025 LC. I miss my 4Runner because I, together with my family and 2 dogs, built a lot of memories with it; but I definitely don't regret buying the Land Cruiser. My only regret is that I should've traded in my other SUV, a 2023 Volvo XC90 T8, that way, I could've had both the LC and 4Runner in my driveway. LOL

That heritage blue top and bottom looks so good
I agree. I haven’t been able to find many without premium package and 20” wheels. I have located other colors at around 60k which sounds decent when comparing to TRD Off Road Premium 4Runner at $58k since the Land Cruiser has sway bar disconnect and hybrid system for only $2k more. Only time will tell if they discount the 4Runners 4k or more like Land Cruiser and Tacoma.

Good question. I think they need to with the 1958. I have seen dealerships have 30 of them on the lot.

I traded my 2020 TRD Pro for my 1958 last week. Very happy with the change.

IMO every other gen of 4Runner they nail it. 1st, 3rd, and 5th. That being said, I still think the 250 is a nice step up from a 5th gen as it's more powerful, has more features, and they absolutely killed it on the styling. Especially if comparing to a 6th gen 4runner on the same chassis, the LC just makes sense.
